Roll-on/roll-off ferries let you bring your own wheels between islands — the backbone of Philippine road trips. The process is straightforward once you know it.
How it works
You buy a passenger ticket for each person plus a freight ticket for the vehicle, priced by category (motorbike, sedan, SUV, truck). Vehicle rates are listed per route on our route pages. You drive on at the stern ramp, park where directed, and go up to the passenger deck.
Documents and timing
- ▸ Original OR/CR (registration) and driver's license — photocopies are often rejected
- ▸ Arrive 1–5 hours before departure; vehicle loading closes early
- ▸ Book vehicle slots ahead on popular routes — capacity is limited
Costs to expect
Motorbike freight typically runs a few hundred to ~₱1,500 depending on distance; cars from ~₱2,000 on short hops to much more on long-haul routes. Rates are per vehicle, one-way, and exclude driver and passenger fares unless a promo says otherwise.
