+How early should I arrive at the port?
For fastcraft, be at the terminal 30–45 minutes before departure. For overnight and RoRo ferries, allow at least 2 hours. Vehicles need 1–5 hours depending on the operator — check the notes on your route page.
+When do ferries get cancelled because of weather?
Fastcraft usually suspend trips when waves reach about 1.5–2.5 metres, and the Coast Guard can halt all small craft when PAGASA issues a gale warning. Our island weather board shows live wave heights and the cancellations board lists every active advisory.
+Are ferries safe in the Philippines?
Yes, on the major scheduled operators. Stick to the named companies listed on this site, travel in daylight where you can, check the weather board before leaving for the port, and book cabin or tourist class on overnight crossings.
+Do students, seniors and PWDs get fare discounts?
Yes — Philippine law gives students, senior citizens and persons with disabilities 20% off the base fare on domestic sea travel with a valid ID. The discount is applied by the operator at booking or at the ticket window.
